CoverUp

A first-person psychological horror game made in 100 hours for TGC Game Jam 2026.

Themes: Comic + Twist + Light.

THE STORY

It is a stormy night. You have spent it alone in the dark, watching zombie movies. You are paranoid, and your father is a cop. When the power cuts out and two staggering figures come through the front door, you know exactly what they are.

You are wrong.

Now the lights are back, the neighbours are knocking, and your father's colleagues are on their way. Hide what you did, hold your story together, and survive the night.

THE TWIST

The dark shows you a zombie apocalypse. Light, from a lamp, the flashlight or a flash of lightning, shows you the truth. The more paranoid you get, the more the world bends: your vision blurs, colours shift and shadows creep in. Shine a light on them and they vanish.

HOW TO PLAY

WASD: move

Mouse: look (click the game to capture the mouse)

E: interact (open drawers and doors, take items, drag bodies, use the peephole)

T: talk to visitors at the door

F: flashlight

Esc: pause (click to resume)

Tips:

- Find the flashlight in your bedroom first, then Dad's gun in the master bedroom.

- Check the peephole before you open the door.

- Lying is risky. Watch the DOUBT bar.

- Four endings: CAUGHT, RUN, CLEAN and BREAKDOWN.

Hide the bodies: look at a body, press E to drag it, and take it to a glowing hiding spot (behind the sofa, the master closet, or beside a bed).

WARNINGS

Horror themes, implied violence (off-screen) and strong tension.

Contains flashing light and lightning effects. Not suitable for players sensitive to flashing lights.

Best played in fullscreen with headphones, in Chrome or Edge on a desktop. Keyboard and mouse required.
